What is SS304 stainless steel?
SS304 is the most widely used stainless steel. It is an austenitic grade with about 18% chromium and 8% nickel, often called 18/8. It resists corrosion in most everyday conditions, is easy to form and weld, and keeps a clean, bright finish, which is why it is used for food equipment, kitchens, tanks and architecture.
304L is the low-carbon version (0.03% max). It is preferred for heavy welded parts because it resists corrosion better at weld zones. Tell us which version your drawing calls for, and we'll quote to that exact grade.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between SS304 and SS304L?
Both have the same chromium and nickel. 304L has lower carbon (0.03% max against 0.08%), so it resists corrosion better at weld zones and is preferred for heavy welded parts. 304 is slightly stronger.
SS304 or SS316: which should I use?
304 suits most indoor and general use. 316 adds molybdenum for better resistance to seawater, chlorides and chemicals, so it is the usual choice for marine, coastal and chemical work.
Is SS304 magnetic?
No. SS304 is austenitic, so it is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. Cold working, such as bending or rolling, may make it slightly magnetic.
What is the price of SS304 in the UAE?

Do you provide a mill test certificate?
Yes. Material is supplied with a mill test certificate showing heat number, chemistry and mechanical results.
